builtbright barn

finally, an excellent prefab possibility in the works on the east coast! builtbright barn is a 700 sq ft 2BR home/studio that is slated to receive LEED platinum certification. built on spruce mountain in rockland, maine, the net-zero house is designed to generate more electricity over a year than it uses. the model house has been completed but is not yet available for sale.

the signature LED lightskirt changes colors based on the home's energy use. green means there is an energy surplus, yellow means the house is making just as much as the house needs, and red means the energy usage is more than is culled.
