where i've been
the last time i posted was april 19. that's because on april 20, our little fellow was born. his name is samuel herbert poses. we are just adjusting to life with two and we are loving it but quite tired. i have a lot of stuff to blog about so i'm looking forward to getting back to regular posts! stay tuned: i'm hoping to be back in a regular way soon!
my good friend caroline did the newborn shoot of sam. we can't believe she managed to finesse such beauty out of what seemed like total chaos and we are so so thankful to have these awesome photographs of such a fleeting time in our lives (sam will never be so small again!!). see more of her fantastic portraits on her blog

8ish to go
actually, more like 7 weeks or less. time is flying.
this is me last week.
when i sneeze the muscles on the side of my basketball belly ring with searing pain.
i am nervous as hell about life with two.
but very very excited to meet this person who's been knocking around my insides like a pinball machine.
the movements of this baby are so different than with ruby- hers were like a graceful waterbed. this one is very anatomical and jerky, like all bony knees and elbows poking about.
we don't know the gender. we didn't with ruby. fulllll of anticipation.

mobiles for the nursery
since the nursery is a neutral grey, there are so many possibilities for pops of color. we've decided to wait until we meet the little boy/girl before we integrate real color, but it can't hurt to poke around now...can you tell i'm still obsessed with pom poms?

i had promised her we'd make a snowman
after we made our snowman (ahem, she corrected, snowWOman)
we walked to the end of our street to ogle a massive snow pyramid made by neighborhood kiddos
